Soumak Weave
Soumak weaving is a textile technique still in use today to weave Persian rugs. To create these pieces, I use thin wire instead of wool yarn to work a variation of the weave pattern. The fine wire is woven around the larger silver wires by hand; no special tools are used for this work!
